Coaching

You don't have to know where you're going yet.
You just need a place to land.

Verity & Veda offers personalized wellness coaching designed around you. It’s all about your goals, your story, your pace. Whether you're building new habits, healing old wounds, or simply ready for something to finally shift, this is a space built for that.

Meet Your Coach

Jess, MA, brings years of experience as a NASM-Certified Wellness Coach and behavioral support therapist. She founded Verity & Veda on the belief that truth and wisdom are the foundation of lasting change. Her work draws on over a decade in education, clinical training in counseling, nervous system and somatic healing, and her own lived experience navigating deconstruction, burnout, and identity transition. She holds space that is warm, grounded, and free of religious framework. Whatever you're working through, you won't be asked to fit a mold here.

"Start where you are" is not just a tagline. It is a philosophy. You do not have to be ready, healed, or certain to begin. You just have to be willing to show up as you actually are right now.

Our coaching is rooted in nervous system awareness, values clarification, somatic practice, and identity work. It is spiritual but never religious, clinical in its foundation but human in its delivery.

Mind, body, and spirit are not separate.

We work with all of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't see your question here, reach out through the contact page. Every message is read personally and you'll hear back within 48 hours.

Do I need any experience with wellness or somatic work to start?

None at all. Many clients come to coaching having never heard the word "somatic" before, and that's completely fine. We start wherever you are, explain things in plain language, and build from there. The only thing you need to bring is a genuine willingness to show up.

Is this therapy? What's the difference?

This is coaching, not therapy, and that distinction matters. Therapy is a licensed clinical service that diagnoses and treats mental health conditions. Coaching is a forward-focused, collaborative process that helps you build self-awareness, clarify your values, regulate your nervous system, and take meaningful steps in your life. The work we do here is deeply informed by clinical frameworks, including nervous system science, somatic practice, and evidence-based coaching methods, but it is not a substitute for therapy or psychiatric care. If you're in active crisis or feel you need clinical mental health support, I'll always help you find the right resources. For everything in between, coaching can be a powerful place to do real work.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are 60 minutes, held via video call, and feel more like a real conversation than a structured program. We'll check in on where you are, explore what's coming up for you, and work through tools, practices, or insights relevant to that session. Some sessions are reflective and slow. Some are energizing and practical. We follow your lead.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends entirely on you and what you're working through. Take Root (3 sessions) is a natural starting point if you want to ease in and get a feel for the work. Find Your Footing (6 sessions) is where most clients land when they're ready to go deeper. Your Own Path lets you build something custom around your specific needs and rhythm. There's no pressure to commit to more than you're ready for, and no minimum beyond what you choose.

I've had bad experiences with wellness spaces before. How is this different?

I hear that, and I think skepticism of the wellness industry is often well-earned. What I can tell you is that this work is grounded in real frameworks: nervous system science, evidence-informed coaching practice, and over a decade of experience in education and behavioral support. There's no pressure to buy more than you need, no upselling, and no pretending that healing is linear or simple. You're allowed to push back, ask hard questions, and change your mind.

What does the free discovery call involve?

The discovery call is a relaxed 30-minute conversation. No slides, no sales pitch. We'll talk about what brought you here, what you're hoping to get from coaching, and whether I'm the right fit for what you need. You're welcome to ask me anything. If we decide to move forward together, great. If not, I'll do my best to point you toward something that serves you better.

Do you offer sliding scale pricing?

Yes. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available each month. You don't need to explain your financial situation or justify your need. Simply mention it during your discovery call and we'll work something out. Accessibility is a core value here, not an afterthought.

Do you take insurance?

Not at this time. Coaching services are not covered by insurance, and because our work together is coaching and not therapy, insurance doesn't apply here. All sessions are self-pay. If cost is a barrier, please ask about sliding scale availability — that's exactly what it's there for. Once PA licensure is in place, certain insurances will be accepted, and this page will be updated to reflect those changes.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens, I get it. I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full session rate. I'll always do my best to reschedule within the same week when possible.

I'm not sure which package fits me. How do I choose?

Honestly? Start with the discovery call and we'll figure it out together. But here's a general guide:

Take Root is for you if you're not sure where to begin, or you want a gentle, low-commitment way to try the work.

Find Your Footing is for you if you're ready to go deeper and want a sustained container to do real work over six weeks.

Your Own Path is for you if your situation is specific, layered, or just doesn't fit a preset program. We build the container together on your discovery call.

I'm deconstructing from religion. Is this space safe for me?

Yes, genuinely and intentionally. Verity & Veda was built with you in mind. Our approach is spiritual but non-religious, and we welcome people at every stage of deconstruction, including those who aren't sure what they believe anymore. You will never be asked to adopt a particular worldview, practice, or framework. This is your space to explore truth on your own terms.

I'm dealing with stress, overwhelm, or depression. Can coaching help?

Coaching can be a meaningful support for people carrying stress, emotional exhaustion, and the heaviness that comes with hard seasons of life. We work with your nervous system, your patterns, and your inner resources to help you find steadier ground. This work is not a replacement for therapy or medical care, and if you're in crisis, I'll always help you find the right support. But for the vast majority of people navigating heavy days, coaching offers something real: a space to be honest, slow down, and start tending to yourself again.
